Back from a long break…

Hey guys!

I took a break from Blending to focus on school exams. Real life was quite demanding on me on 2011, but hopefully, in 2012 i'll be much more free to keep doing my passion: 3D CG Art! I also have a few promised tutorials comming soon. I just need to get back on my fet!

Anyways, i hope everyone is doing great and i would like to show you a Xmas Tree i just did with Blender - excuse the poor lighting I was in arush and I'll be creating a scene for BlenderGuru's competition!

See you very soon!

Star Trek Anamorphic Flares with BLENDER (Part2)

Hello everyone!

And here I am...continuing with my tests...Now with a very simple scene and with (lots) of camera shake :P

Tell me what you think! Next phase is to load up a real footage and try to do the same effect and them, you won't need to expend your money with Adobe nor Optical Flares! Blender can do it for free!

If there's anything else you wanna add or comment, please be my guest, criticism is always welcome!

Star Trek Anarmorphic Flares with BLENDER

I was trying to acheive the nice Lens Flare that we had in the lastest Star Trek Movie...I always wondered why this effect was only for After Effects... Well...Yesterday i got courage and decided to try it. :) it stills much to be improved :)

Blender Material Nodes – Realistic Bullet Material Tutorial

Hello everyone!

Time for another tutorial...in postuguese...I know, I know... I'll do an english PDF version of it soon. But you can always watch and try to learn a new languague :P Seriously, again this tutorial is prety easy to follow. It covers:

- Bullet Modelling

- Bullet Texturing

All in a very realistic way...however render intensive... It needs HDRI maps or a very detailed scene to work well...anyways, i'm just teaching here another way of doing things without the need of heavy texture making...in fact, I just used one texture...but please enjoy!

Aproveite! Qualquer dúvidas, favor postar um comentário!

Download here the finished .blend file! (With the textures that i used!)

Faça o download da .blend terminada! (Com as texturas que eu usei!)

Here!

Oh! E se você fez algo com com esse material, poste aqui que eu vou adorar ver!

Oh! And if you have done something with my tutorial, post here and i'll love to see!

Texturing Tests… and stuff

Hey guys!

Long time no see...yeah...school has been eating a lot of my time...
But hey! :P I'm here. Anyways...My teacher asked me to stop a little bit the modelling of the Plane/Starship (ECW), in order to practise a little bit the texturing (one of my worst areas). Them, he directed me to the awesome tutorial about this subject, by Stefan-Morrell... I had to adapt it to Gimp, and this is what i got:

First try: TOTAL FAIL :P

Seccond Try: My best so far!

New Try: Trying to make it looks more "new"...Dunno if this looks new :P

So this is my progress...and since I finished the exercises, I updated a few things within the ECW Model:

Well....that's it. Thanks prety much for taking the time to read my blog!

End of Course Work Update #1

Greetings everyone!

So...I had to start my ECW...The teacher caught us all by surprise, and he gave us 30 days to finish it... ONLY 30 days... wish me luck guys..I'll need it for sure.

Anyways, let's go to the interesting part. My ECW will feature a spaceship, but it has nice aerodynamics. I chose a concept from the Artist Richard Han, because i found very interesting the re-lecture of a famous WW2 Airplane ( a cookie for someone who says the name of the plane).

I haven't decided the scenarios yet... I'll come up with something as I continue the job.

Progress:

Aprox: 1:30 minutes of modelling

3 Hours in total.

That's it for today. Stay tunned for updates! And thanks again for taking the time to read my humble blog with my poor english. :)

“RIO +” Matrix’s Bullet Effect with Blender

Greetings everyone!

Today i'd like to show you a new progress of "RIO +", my upcomming short movie, entirely made with Blender. It's a spoiler from the scene 3, where we have bullets in slow-motion, reaching a target. My objective with this scene was to make everything visually amazing, with the nice Matrix's effect, with heat distortions and stuff.  The challenge was in the fact that I was using HDR images to fake the reflections, so everything was really taking too long to render, since to make the Matrix's effect with Blender I had to add several things and do a lot of cheats, whithin the RenderLayers and the Compositor. The effect was really hard to idealize, but them, I was abble to acheive the result I wanted.

Yeah...I love the anamorphic flare effect. Expect to see it a lot!

A nice little frame.

Well, thanks prety much for watching and don't worry! I'm gonna do a tutorial about how to acheive the same result in a few days, to help you, fellow Blender User!

Oh and bad news...I'll halt "Rio +" progress for a few days, when i'll focus on End of Course Work. Expect to see a few updates soon.

Thanks for taking your time to read my blog!

“RIO +” Short Updates…

Greetings everyone...it's been awhile since i posted a update about my short movie... Lots of things have been happening lately and I have completely forgotten about posting Rio+ here...

Well, so it's time to catch up... I remodeled my Police Car, in order to make it more realistic and to correct the mesh...however if it's far from perfect, i'm prety happy with the result, and it's even looking a bit cartoony, but that's the objective :)

Police Car - Gol - Wires

Lighting wasn't helping in this render...

The new police car now in scene.

Well...after that i decided to finish the CN4...at least for now, and soon I started to work into the CN3. Modelled the bullet and today, i started to assembly it, however it stills prety much WiP...lots of things will be changed, so don't worry :)

Bullet render...

CN3 WiP1 - Started the composition and the animation.

Well guys...I guess that's it for today... That was my progress into January, but unfortunatly now, my vacations are over and my Computer Time will be drastically reduced by school...

To finish off this post, i'd like to post here an outdated CN4 Footage... (lots of things have changed.)

Thank you for reading and untill the next post!
